1. Acceptance of Terms

By using or accessing the World of Rice website or mobile application (together, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. This document constitutes a legally binding agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder, generated by a computer system and not requiring any physical or digital signature[1].


2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be a natural person who is legally capable of entering into contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Persons who are “incompetent to contract” (e.g. undischarged insolvents) are not eligible to use the Platform[2]. If you are a minor under 18, you may use the Platform only under the supervision and with the prior consent of a parent or legal guardian[2]. Any use of the Platform without such supervision is not permitted. You must create a single user account and keep your account information (including email and mobile number) accurate and up-to-date. You alone are responsible for the confidentiality and use of your account (user ID/password). If you provide any information that is false or incomplete, or if we suspect misuse of the Platform, we may suspend or terminate your account without notice[2][3].


3. Use of Website and Mobile App

Our Platform may be accessed via web browsers and/or our mobile application. Your use of the mobile app is subject to any additional terms (e.g. app store policies). By using the Platform you agree not to use it for unlawful activities or in violation of any law. You must comply with all applicable regulations (including IT Act, consumer protection laws, and FSSAI rules). You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate others[4][3]. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any accounts involved in fraud, abuse, excessive returns, repeated order cancellations or any conduct contrary to these Terms[3].


4. Product Information, Quality and Food Safety

World of Rice sells food-grade rice and related agricultural products. All products on the Platform comply with India’s Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and related regulations. We are an FSSAI-licensed Food Business Operator (License No. __) and maintain required hygiene and safety standards in storage and handling[5]. We are committed to transparency: product listings will display the FSSAI license number and all mandatory food label information, as required by FSSAI guidelines[5].

Food Disclaimer: All agricultural products are natural and may vary slightly in color, flavor, moisture content or bulk density. Product weights (e.g. net weight of rice) are approximate; actual weight may vary. We do not make any extra warranty about crop yield or plant growth. All purchases are “as is” except as expressly warranted on the product page. We do not guarantee specific results from farming or consumption of products. Farmers and consumers should follow standard practices.

Source Transparency: We source our products from reputable farmers and suppliers. However, we cannot guarantee outcomes beyond those required by law. Customers acknowledge that minor quality variations (e.g. presence of husk or grain breakage) are typical in food products and do not constitute defects, provided FSSAI norms are met.


5. Ordering, Pricing and Payment

When you place an order, you agree to pay the price and any taxes (e.g. GST) shown on the Platform at the time of order. All prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR). Unless stated otherwise, prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice. If a price displayed at checkout differs from our system due to a technical glitch or typographical error, we may cancel the order and notify you[6]. Payment: We accept payment via credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, mobile wallets (Razorpay, etc.), and other authorized gateways. You agree to pay by the chosen method and acknowledge that payment authorization is final. Recurring payments (for subscriptions or instalment plans) will use e-mandates or similar authorizations in compliance with RBI guidelines. You may cancel a recurring order by giving notice at least 7 days before the next scheduled payment. Subscription Plans: For subscription/recurring services (e.g. monthly rice delivery), you authorize us to auto-charge your payment method at the agreed interval. If a payment fails, we may suspend the service until you update your payment information. You can cancel subscriptions at any time in writing or via the Platform; cancellations apply only to future deliveries. Refunds of prepaid fees (if any) will follow the refund procedure below.


6. Bulk Orders and Custom Pricing

We offer bulk purchase options for large-quantity buyers (e.g. businesses). Bulk orders typically require advance notice and may attract custom pricing or discounts. If placing a bulk order, you may need to negotiate terms (min order quantity, special packaging, credit terms, etc.) in writing. We reserve the right to accept, refuse or modify a bulk order or quoted price. Bulk or customized prices apply only to the specific order and customer. Any promotional price or coupon is valid only for retail (B2C) transactions, unless expressly stated otherwise. Bulk (B2B) orders will be invoiced separately as commercial sales (see below).


7. Delivery and Acceptance

Shipping: We ship products through third-party logistics partners to the address you specify. Delivery estimates are provided at checkout but are not guaranteed. Delivery times may be affected by factors beyond our control (weather, holidays, labor issues, COVID restrictions, etc.). You agree that we are not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers or force majeure events (see “Force Majeure” clause). Acceptance of Goods: Upon delivery, please inspect the product or packaging. If you see visible damage or believe the product is incorrect, you may refuse the delivery or note the issue with the delivery person. If the product is delivered to your address or designated recipient without complaint, it will be deemed accepted. We are not responsible for loss or damage after delivery has been accepted by you or anyone at the delivery address. Third-Party Logistics: We use external courier services and payment processors. These third-party providers handle their operations independently. We do not control, and are not liable for, their actions (though we will coordinate on any issues). 8. Returns, Refunds and Cancellation

Consumer returns are governed by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Opened food items or hygiene-sensitive products are generally non-returnable unless defective. Refunds are processed via original payment methods.


9. Promotions, Coupons and Price Mismatch

Promotions are subject to specific terms and availability. Coupons cannot be retroactively applied. We reserve the right to cancel orders in case of pricing discrepancies.


10. Communication and Notices

By using the Platform, you consent to receive transactional and promotional communications. Notices sent electronically are deemed delivered within 48 hours.


11. Account Suspension and Misuse

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse or policy violations. Termination may result in cancellation of pending orders.


12. User Content, Reviews and Feedback

You retain ownership of content you submit but grant us a royalty-free license to use it. We may remove content that violates law or these Terms.


13. Third-Party Services

Third-party services such as payment gateways and logistics providers operate independently. We are not liable for their actions or failures.


14. Intellectual Property

All Platform content is owned or licensed by World of Rice and is protected under intellectual property laws.


15. Limitation of Liability and Indemnity

Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the affected order. You agree to indemnify us against losses arising from misuse or violations.


16. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control.


17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Indian law. Courts in Gurgaon, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction.


18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
